Assignment 0: Super Short
Students are challenged to tell a short story in only 3 shot (wide, medium, and tight).
Assignment 1: One Scene
Students are given the script to a movie or TV show, and must all storyboard the same scene. This lets students compare what each other does with the scene and then compare to the filmed version.
Assignment 2: Choose Your Own
Students choose their own project to storyboard. This could be an existing section of a script, their own written script, song lyrics for a music video, etc.
Assignment 3: Group Story
Students are put into groups and given a genre. The group must then write, conceptualize, storyboard, and pitch their own story within that constraint. The group works together to create the story and characters, but each member is responsible for storyboarding a section.
